![]() | Tom and Wanda Welchel began building horse trailers in 1989, jumping into a new career with hopes that it would be sustainable. “At the time, the economy was bad in Oklahoma, so we were looking for something that would have a nationwide audience to appeal to,” Tom Welchel said. Cherokee Trailers found the audience it was looking for, and nearly 20 years later the Oklahoma City company has more than 60 dealers nationwide, along with dealers in Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico.Tom handles the sales and marketing of Cherokee Trailers, while Wanda oversees the Production of the Trailers. Together they have created an all aluminum trailer that is designed to meet the needs of each individual customer. , They next introduced “Dream Catcher Interiors” in order to complete the all aluminum trailer of your dreams, whether your style is “Cowgirl Beautiful or Cowboy Tough”, Dream Catcher Interiors has many beautiful interiors to pick and choose from. Features include: solid oak cabinets, fabrics, leathers and an interior quality that simply says “home”. Tom and Wanda have five children. One daughter and four sons, with seven grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, cooking and entertaining guests in their ten acre horse ranch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. |
